HockeyTron uses artificial intelligence to generate custom sports jersey designs. This page explains how AI is used in our platform and what you should know before placing an order.
How We Use AI
Our platform uses Google Gemini, a generative AI model, to create jersey designs based on your text descriptions and design preferences. The AI generates front jersey artwork, extracts color palettes, and supports iterative editing through multi-turn conversations where you can refine your design.
AI Output Characteristics
- Variability: AI-generated designs are non-deterministic. The same prompt may produce different results each time. This is a feature of generative AI, not a defect.
- Imperfections: AI outputs may contain visual artifacts, asymmetries, or unexpected elements. Our production pipeline includes human review steps, but minor imperfections may be present.
- Color Accuracy: Colors displayed on screen are approximations. The final sublimation-printed product may differ from the on-screen preview due to screen calibration, printing processes, fabric type, and color space conversion.
- Design Limitations: The AI generates designs based on patterns learned from training data. It cannot guarantee exact replication of specific real-world designs, logos, or trademark-protected imagery.
Intellectual Property
The copyright status of AI-generated imagery is an evolving legal area. Under current U.S. Copyright Office guidance and federal court rulings, works created autonomously by AI without sufficient human authorship may not qualify for copyright protection. When you order a design from HockeyTron:
- You receive a license to use the design on the ordered merchandise for personal, team, or organizational use.
- You should not rely on copyright protection for the AI-generated design elements.
- Human-authored elements (such as your team name, player names, and specific creative direction) may have separate intellectual property considerations.
Content Responsibility
You are responsible for the content of your design prompts. Do not request designs that infringe on third-party trademarks, copyrights, or intellectual property. We reserve the right to refuse production of any design that we determine, at our sole discretion, may violate intellectual property rights or our content policies.
